Since our founding more than 35 years ago, the Nature Conservancy of Kentucky maintains its status as one of the preeminent organizations in Kentucky dedicated to the protection of plants and wildlife through purchases, gifts, exchanges, conservation easements, and management agreements and partnerships. Today, the chapter has more than 5,000 members, and has protected over 40,000 acres of ecologically important lands in Kentucky. In addition, our cooperative partnerships with private landowners promote the protection of over 100,000 additional acres. We currently manage over 30 preserves and over 100 conservation easements.
